Bush Lore

These have been doing the rounds and as a great fan of Yogi Bera I thought it was worth looking at how George Dubya had assumed the mantle.
'The vast majority of our imports come from outside the country.'
- George W. Bush
'If we don't succeed, we run the risk of failure.'
- George W. Bush
'One word sums up probably the responsibility of any Governor, and that one word is 'to be prepared'.'
-George W. Bush
'I have made good judgments in the past. I have made good judgments in the future.'
- George W. Bush
'The future will be better tomorrow.'
- George W. Bush
We're going to have the best educated American people in the world.'
- George W. Bush
'I stand by all the misstatements that I've made.'
- George W Bush
'We have a firm commitment to NATO, we are a part of NATO. We have a firm commitment to Europe. We are a part of Europe '
- George W. Bush
'Public speaking is very easy.'
- George W. Bush
'A low voter turnout is an indication of fewer people going to the polls.'
- George W. Bush
'I have opinions of my own --strong opinions-- but I don't always agree with them.'
-George Bush
'We are ready for any unforeseen event that may or may not occur.'
- George W. Bush
'For NASA, space is still a high priority.'
-George W. Bush
'Quite frankly, teachers are the only profession that teach our children.'
-George W. Bush
'It isn't pollution that's harming the environment. It's the impurities in our air and water that are doing it.'
- George W. Bush
And with that let us bid adieu.    Whether it is fond or not I will leave to my American friends to decide.

Such an embarrassment....I try and make myself feel better by saying that he did all of these on purpose just trying to add some humor to his speeches....but that's just wishful thinking. In the long run my heart goes out to Laura, who is such a gracious lady. George's quotes will provide laughter for years to come...and they do say that laughter is the best medicine.

I think my fave is "Public speaking is very easy." I guess it's easy if you don't recognize the constant mistakes you make and aren't easily embarassed.

If only we could have bid him adieu four (or better yet eight) years ago. :)

OMG I'm so surprised to see Tim here....

Anyway, sorry about that. I caught a little bit of the Dave Letterman Show the other night and he said the worst thing about George Bush leaving politics was that now the writers on his show would actually have to write something. George Dubya has been keeping them in material for all these years and they only had to repeat his constant faux pas to get laughs. Says it all really doesn't it?
